The first-ever Cars and Canvas took place in downtown Los Angeles on October 21, 2018. Many marques were displayed and represented, but Porsche had the spotlight in this well-attended event that was not overly crowded or unnecessarily busy. The premise of the event was to celebrate the art of the automobile, and in addition to several visual artists showcasing their automotive prints, there were plenty of Porsche social media photographers on hand to capture images that do justice to the well-honed bodywork on display.
There was also a fundraising aspect to the event with a custom piece by artist, Deven Hitchens, being auctioned off to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The resulting illustration of a black Porsche Cayman GT4 was simply stunning.
The event was put on by noted automotive photographer, Tom LeClair, and was sponsored by South Coast Wealth Management, Vision Motorsports, RIDES Gallery and Fast Newport Speed Cave.
The Porsche 911 was the most well-represented vehicle at the event with cars spanning several decades from the 1960’s up to the present day 991.
